So, I see a lot of new and interesting things on my daily walks at Kroger..but very few things make me say "what is the world coming to?" ....Frozen Egg Patties...Really? Are we getting to the point where we can't even scramble our our own eggs? I mean, is it not enough that we no longer need to crack the eggs? Must we let them get cooked in a factory and flash frozen so that we can have a "quick" breakfast.
My answer...if you don't have time to make your own scrambled eggs...stick to McDonalds..

I'm a little out of touch
So, move-in day was a success. Thanks to Aaron and my dad I got everything up the 3 flights of stairs and into the apartment. I came out a lot better than I thought...the only thing I needed was a new TV. Which I bought...what I didn't realize is that they don't really make "regular" tvs anymore...can you say out of touch? Not that I am not thrilled with my flat-screen with HD and 1000 other capablilities...I am. I just had no clue that those were not just a new item, but actually the norm.
Anyway, poor Pearl isn't adjusting very quickly to a new home. It is much smaller than what she is used to and she HATES the stairs. We are making improvements every day, though.
Work is going well. Working in the Meat Dept. is not as bad as I expected. I have learned a lot, so that is good. Everyday I dread, not the hour drive to work, but the hour drive home. Tonight I am working the "overnight" shift (11pm-7:30am)...not extremely excited about that, but at least I have the whole day tomorrow to sleep and get some more unpacking done.

Newness
I have a new blog...actually to be more accurate..I have A blog..period. That is new.
It adds to all the other newness in my life. I have a new job, new apartment, and after this afternoon, a new haircut.
The new job is going well. I work a lot and drive a lot. On the positive side, I also learn a lot. I think that I have found a job that fits my personality. No day is ever the exact same as the last and there is ALWAYS something to do. I've never had a job that keeps me this busy and I love it. It is a totally new field for me (I never thought of myself as a retail management kind of girl). It just goes to show you that even in your wildest dreams, you have no idea what God has in store for you.
Also, I am moving on Thursday. I hadn't planned to get an apartment of my own so soon, but I think it will be a good thing. I have enjoyed my rent-free life with my parents, but after living on my own for so many years, you start to miss it. They've been great and it has been nice to spend time with them and Carson. Luckily, I am only moving to the other side of town. The apartment is much...just a one bedroom (816 sq feet), but that will be plenty for me and Pearl. Hopefully, I can get all of my stuff moved in on Thursday and then I can spend a week or two unpacking and getting things in order. I think I will be okay on furniture too. The only things I lack are a couch and TV. Needless to say, cable will be close to the bottom of my priority list.
Anyway, I am super excited and can't wait to entertain people!
Oh, and I can't forget the new haircut. If I don't chicken out, I am going to cut it short...
Pictures of new haircut and apt. to come...
